Colors of the Future
An exhibition of views that already outline tomorrow
There are seeds of the future sprouting in the notebooks, in the colorful lines, in the gestures that dream with the pencil in hand. The works gathered here are more than drawings — they are sensitive maps of a territory seen through the eyes of those who inhabit it, of those who grow up among rivers, forests, schools and affections.
This virtual exhibition is a joint initiative of Uma Concertação pela Amazônia and the Pará State Department of Education (Seduc-PA), conceived by Fernanda Rennó, responsible for the Concertação's Culture front. It derives from the exhibition of the same name held at the Amazon and New Economies event, promoted by the Brazilian Mining Institute (IBRAM), in November 2024, in the city of Belém.
The exhibition was born from a competition promoted by Seduc-PA with the objective of selecting illustrations made by students from the public school system to compose the department's teaching materials. More than a selection process, it was a call to imagination — an invitation for them to draw what they feel, what they live — and, above all, what they desire.
The drawings also make up the materials of the Itinerários Amazônicos, that encourage students to recognize themselves in this perspective, of a comprehensive and contextualized education.
Each line is a gesture of affirmation.
Each color, a soft cry of hope.
Each work, an open window to the future.
This exhibition celebrates the talent and creative power of the youth of Pará, and reaffirms the role of education as a living current in debates about the present and future of the Amazon.
These young people, with their small hands and broad vision, are already paving the way.
It is up to us to listen to them — and follow along.
We invite you to visit this exhibition composed of 23 works of art, each accompanied by an explanatory audio recorded by the student-artists themselves — which makes the experience even richer, more sensitive and exciting.
