A visual artist, printmaker, sculptor, and draftsman born in Manaus, he is the son of the poet Aníbal Beça. Since 1992, he has been researching Indigenous societies and works with woodcut, linocut, rubber stamps, and metal sculpture. His work revolves around the tensions between the ancestral and the urban Amazon, between forest and city, addressing displacement, territory, and belonging. He took part in the group exhibition Cycles for Tomorrow, held in May 2022 at Manart Galeria in Manaus and online on the Concertation’s website, curated by Hadna Abreu and Anna Lôyde Abreu. The exhibition brought together 16 artists from the region around the question “And what will our tomorrow in the Amazon be like?” and inspired the visual identity of the network’s digital channels during that period.
