Pan-Amazon – Between Heaven and Earth

The 5th plenary of the year of A Concert for the Amazon took place on June 14. With the theme “Pan-Amazon – Between Heaven and Earth”, the 5th plenary session of A Concert for the Amazon took place in June. The objective was to promote a dialogue about the challenges, opportunities, and interactions existing in the Pan-Amazon. The session featured guests such as Brazilian filmmaker, Eryk Rocha; actress, researcher and film director, Gabriela Cunha; researcher at the National Institute for Space Research (INPE), Jean-Pierre Ometto; researcher at the European Commission’s Joint Research Center (JRC), René Beuchle; the representative of Convervation Internatitonal (CI), Cândido Pastor; the secretary-general of the Permanent Secretariat of the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (SP/OTCA), Alexandra Moreira López; and the coordinator of ECLAC’s Sustainable Development Division in Santiago, José Javier Gomez.

A new economy in the making
