People

People. This entire concert is for them, to improve their quality of life. The people who populate our imaginations when we speak of the Amazons—highlighted in Genilson Guajajara’s rituals of the young girl’s coming-of-age. Those who seem more distant from this territory, like the ones revealed by Marcela Bonfim. Those who are a minority yet care for the forest and drive the socio-bioeconomy through culture as well—such as in the ceramics of Ronaldo Guedes. And those who are a majority in numbers—at times seeming larger than the cities they inhabit—like the monumental figures of Dacordobarro. People with often-overlapping identities that come to the fore depending on the moment and the need. People who inhabit the Amazons and maintain diverse relationships with the region; people who shape their landscapes, proving that the social fabric is an intertwining of memories—as shown in the canvases of Carmézia Emiliano.
