Ronaldo Guedes

A renowned visual artist and Marajoara ceramicist, Ronaldo Guedes is a member of Ateliê Arte Mangue Marajó, a collective of ceramicists and sculptors located in the municipality of Soure, on Marajó Island (Pará).

Shaped from clay taken from the island’s flooded fields, his work reaffirms the region’s ancestral culture. The pigments that give color to his pieces come from mineral rocks such as claystone and kaolin.
