A visual artist from Amazonas, born in Autazes (Amazonas) in 1953 and raised in Manaus. He works across drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, and performance, and taught at the Federal University of Amazonas for more than three decades. He is also a researcher of Manaus’s Belle Époque architecture. His recent work builds a universe of archetypes centered on the Amazonian imaginary. He took part in the group exhibition Cycles for Tomorrow, held in May 2022 at Manart Galeria in Manaus and online on the Concertation’s website, curated by Hadna Abreu and Anna Lôyde Abreu. The exhibition brought together 16 artists from the region around the question “And what will our tomorrow in the Amazon be like?” and inspired the visual identity of the network’s digital channels during that period.
