Auá Mendes

A native of Manaus, she is an Indigenous transvestigender artist from the Mura people who works as an illustrator, muralist, graffiti artist, art educator and graphic designer. She uses analog and digital techniques to express ancestral memory, the marginalized body and transfemininity. She created the visual identity of the Baile da Terra Festival, supported in 2022 by the Concertation. She signed the artwork for Concertation Notebook No. 12, “Energy: the Amazonias in the transition agenda”, and her art shapes the visual identity of the network’s digital channels. She took part in the exhibition Poéticas do Possível with the work “Ancestral Energy”, created for the Energy axis of the document Proposals for the Amazonias: an integrated agenda, in 2024.
