Silvana Mendes

She works with afetocolagens (affective collages) that revisit historical photographs through intuitive erasures and speculative narratives. Her work questions dominant representations of Brazilian history and proposes symbolic reparation. She took part in the exhibition Poetics of the Possible with the work “Web of Life” (“Teia da Vida”), created for the Bioeconomy pillar of the 2024 document Proposals for the Amazonias: An Integrating Agenda.
