Amazon Leap: Confronting Climate Crisis and Social Inequality with Nature-Based Solutions

May 05, 2022

The Brazil LAB of PIIRS (Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies), the High Meadows Environmental Institute and the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs host the conference “Amazonian Leapfrogging: Confronting Climate Crisis and Social Inequality with Nature-Based Solutions”, promoted in partnership with the Amazon 2030 initiative

Seeking to envision concrete efforts to protect the Amazon for Brazil and the planet, Princeton scholars and students will urge Brazilian scientists, environmental activists, policy experts, business innovators, and social entrepreneurs to explore nature-based solutions that promote environmental conservation and socioeconomic development in the Brazilian Amazon.

Open to the public, the first two sessions on 5/5 will be broadcast live on the Brazil LAB YouTube channel and will address issues such as the current state of the forest, climate emergency, biodiversity loss, and social vulnerability, outlining paths for an environmental and socioeconomic leap forward.
