And what will our tomorrow in the Amazon look like

And what will our tomorrow in the Amazon be like?

May 17, 2022 - June 04, 2022

The exhibition “Cycles For Tomorrow” displays the vision of 16 artists from Amazonia who are dedicated to and fighting for the ground they inhabit. Each work expresses a moment and a perspective of Amazonia lived and felt, revealing the diversity of this mother-forest that is sometimes delicate and fragile, but at other times, furious and full of abundance.

The format of the presentation of the works is in “Lambe-lambe”, a technique of paper collage on walls and walls, widely used by advertising and artists in urban spaces. As an expression of art, “licking” is an action that has a short period of time because it is exposed to the sun and rain. After a few days and months, the collages open space for other possibilities, dialoguing with the key-words of this artists’ collective – TIME/AMAZONIA/LIFE/DYE/ CYCLE.

The artists are Skarlati Kemblin, Rakel Caminha, Thaís Kokama, Otoni Mesquita, Gisele Alfaia, MIA, Buy Chaves, Rui Machado, Chermie Ferreira, Francimar Barbosa, Raiz, Alonso Jr.

The exhibition also wants to bring a pause for some much-needed connections through each artist’s genuine art, whether in person or virtually.
