Rakel Caminha is an artist from Manaus whose creations address social and ecological issues, as well as issues relevant to women’s experiences. She created the cover art for the single “Hutukara” by the Amazonas band Marambaya, which opened the plenary session she took part in. Hutukara means “the part of the sky from which the earth was born” and expresses part of the worldview of the forest peoples. “Hutukara is like a body in which everyone lives; there is no ‘outside.’ Everything is exchange, and we need to exchange with nature. She illustrates the visual identity of the Cultural Atlas of the Amazonias and took part in the group exhibition Cycles for Tomorrow, organized by the Concertation in 2022. She created the digital photomontages illustrating the official materials of the International Conference on the Amazon and New Economies, organized by the Brazilian Mining Institute (Ibram) and held in Bel\u00e9m in November 2024, with the selection of artists curated by the Concertation.
