(i)material

A land chaos illuminated by the intense lines of Uelinton Santana. Hadna Abreu’s delicate lines with watercolors of mycelium highlight the importance of education, a basic theme for everything and which is often invisible, like fungi. Paula Sampaio uses just two colors to print on the retinas the consequences and records of infrastructure, another central theme for a development agenda for the Amazon. Science, technology and innovation are also central in Adriana Ramalho’s abstract construction. Materiality and immateriality appear in Laiza Ferreira’s ancestral and hybrid collages to compose a dialogue about forest and energy. Energy that is a scalar magnitude combined with time and that also gives life to cultural manifestations such as the Cururu, portrayed by Rai Reis.
